I was that smart kid, graduated highschool at 16. Started an Accounting degree(which I’m good at, but us not the correct fit at all) and dragged that out for 10 years(only actually got it done because while I didn’t want it, I needed to show my daughters that a smart brown immigrant CAN).

Between high school and the eventual finishing of the damned degree was a period if absolute chaos(by society’s standard: party lifestyle, almost teenage parenthood, night shift work).

Now I work in Media and Advertising. This is a much better fit for me. More flamboyant, creative and expressive.

You have so much longer to go, so much more of yourself to find. So many more people to meet who can hold up mirrors to you so you can see who you are.

No one is a failure just because they didn’t live up to the standards of others(even the ones who gave us life and we love very much).

Ps: I could never teach anyone anything, but it’s an admirable job should you ever consider it?
