Oddly I’m the night owl lady with a early rising man… I can’t sleep til late so I might go to bed with him early, hang around a bit and then go off to do my own thing, falling asleep on the couch or returning to bed later. I like to sleep in while he likes to wake up early and do stuff at sunrise.

Other times, we cheerfully say goodnight and I just keep reading.

What I read from your article is frustration from you and disrespect from him, especially that “does your mouth shut off?” comment. Don’t know your “couple’s sense of humour" but that would result in a big discussion at our house.

I reckon you guys could work around the “time mismatch" in innovative ways, but that involves being on the same page about the fact that you WANT to spend time together and also rexamining what expectations are negotiable and which aren’t.

I hope you find a way through and build a bridge back to each other with the love you have.
